Anne Fortin is an avid amateur golfer living in Lantzville, BC, with her husband, Fabian, and labradoodle, Morty.

Anne first discovered golf in her 20s, when she took lessons at the local club with her friend and their moms! Then, her friend began dating a PGA of Canada Golf Instructor, and golf became more than just a passing interest. The friend group jumped into golf, signing up for golf clinics, ladies’ nights and committing to driving range hangouts or a quick 9-holes at the various local courses. Anne also enjoys supporting the local drink carts on the course, indulging in a Mott’s Clamato Caesar (pickled bean flavour is her favourite!), and taking pictures with her friends for the ‘gram.

Gals Who Golf

Anne founded Gals Who Golf in a Digital Communications course through the University of Toronto.
Who are Gals Who Golf? They're the amazing group of women whom Anne golfs with who make this game fun. Anne hopes to inspire her readers to find their own group of Gals Who Golf!

​

She was inspired to create a golf blog for millennial women. This blog and resource are designed to answer women's questions about starting golf, to help break down barriers.

​

“Golf can feel intimidating and inaccessible, sometimes like an old boys club, and I hate that because it is such a great sport for so many reasons,” explains Anne. “It’s fun, it gets you outside and active, it’s social, the clothes are awesome, and the post-game patio hangs are idyllic. Why should the guys get to have all the fun with their bachelor parties, men’s nights, Sunday morning tee times, and getaways?”

If men can golf and have fun (even if they are major amateurs), so can we!

Anne’s blog, anneforts.com - Gals Who Golf, will strive to answer questions that women might have, like:
